Soprano Julia Muzychenko is a rising star on the international scene, with an intense career in both opera and concert seasons. Julia has won prizes at some of the most prestigious international competitions, such as the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels, the Tenor Viñas Competition in Barcelona, the Monserrat Caballé Competition and the Clermont Ferrand International Opera Competition. She also won 1st prizes at the Meistersinger von Nürnberg Competition, the Opera de Tenerife International Competition, the Crescendo International Music Competition at Carnegie Hall and the Serguei Rakhmaninov Competition. Recent highlights include her debut as the Swan Princess (The Tale of Tsar Saltan) with the Opéra National du Rhin, Violetta (La Traviata) with the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, a concert with the Prague Orchestra at the Cartagena Festival in Colombia and a concert with the Stuttgarter Philharmoniker at the Heidenheim Festival, Gilda (Rigoletto) and Nanetta (Falstaff) with the Opéra National de Montpellier, Oksana (The Night Before Christmas Eve) with the Oper Frankfurt, which was recorded and distributed on DVD by Naxos and was awarded Production of the Year by the International Opera Awards. In concert seasons, Julia sang a solo recital at the Schostakovich Hall in St. Petersburg and was a soloist in the Advent Concert at the Frauenkirche in Dresden, which was broadcast on the ZDF television channel. She also performed Violetta (La Traviata) at the Verdi Festival in Bussetto, at the Teatro Comunale Bolzano and at the Tenerife Opera, and sang Norina (Don Pasquale) at the National Opera in Montpellier and Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus) at the Hermitage Theatre in St Petersburg. Julia was a member of the academies of the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow and the Grand Opera in Houston, USA, and completed master's degrees in vocal performance at the St. Petersburg Conservatory and the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin.
