Born in China in 2003, Xunyue Zhang began her musical journey at the age of six. She is the winner of the 2nd Prize and Special prize for the best Mozart interpretation in 8th International Violin Competition Henri Marteau 2023 in Germany, as well the 3rd Prize and three special awards in the Lipizer International Violin Competition 2022 in Italy and 2nd Prize of the Ibolyka Gyarfas Foundation Violin Competition 2021.
As a soloist, Xunyue performed in Germany, Italy and China with orchestras such as the Hofer Symphoniker, Kammerakademie Potsdam and the Shanghai Conservatory Symphony Orchestra.
From 2022 she was selected to take part in the master class at the Kronberg Festival, at the Villecroze Music Academy and at the Ettal International Summer Academy. She had the privilege of attending masterclasses led by world-renowned musicians such as Ana Chumachenco, Mihaela Martin, Kolja Blacher, Boris Kuschnir and Oleh Krysa.
After her studies at the Affiliated Middle School of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Xunyue is currently studying at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin with Stephan Picard.
As a scholarship holder, she plays on a violin by Andrea Guarneri, Cremona 1663, generously on loan from Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben.
