Violinist David Seixas was born in Bragança and began his violin studies at the age of eleven. He holds a degree from the Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas (ESART), where he studied with conductor and professor Augusto Trindade.
Since 2021, he has been living in Finland, where he completed a Master’s degree in Violin Performance at the prestigious Sibelius Academy under the guidance of soloist and professor Sirkka-Liisa Kaakinen.
He has also studied with violinists such as Augusto Trindade (Orquestra Filarmónica Portuguesa), Anton Sorokow and Sophie Heinrich (Wiener Symphoniker), and Simone Bernardini (Berliner Philharmoniker). Other important influences in David’s artistic development include Daniel Rowland, Pedro Meireles, Pekka Kuusisto, Zofia Wóycicka, Sirkka-Liisa Kaakinen, Jean-Jacques Kantorow, Gilles Apap, and Jela Spitkova.
Since 2021, David has collaborated with several of Finland’s leading orchestras, including the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra, Lahti Symphony Orchestra, Lapland Chamber Orchestra, Avanti! Chamber Orchestra, Kymi Sinfonietta, and Pori Sinfonietta.
In 2022 and 2024, he was invited to perform with the Joensuu City Orchestra and the Helsinki Chamber Orchestra as concertmaster and assistant concertmaster.
Since 2018, he has been a member of the Quartz Quintet, a chamber music ensemble with a special focus on contemporary music
David receives support from Oficina dos Violinos – Luthiers (Porto) and the Anna-Maria Moggio Foundation (USA).
His solo CD, "Serene Bach", was released in 2021 by the American label Centaur Records.
