Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro

Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro is one of the greatest Portuguese musicians of our time and one of the most internationally renowned as a soloist and chamber musician. With a degree and doctorate from the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, where he studied with the prestigious Professor Lyudmila Roschina, Filipe has since embarked on a career that has led him to perform on the best stages and in concert series and festivals in Europe, America, Asia and Oceania, solo, alongside some of the world's most prestigious musicians and accompanied by the main Portuguese orchestras and those of various European and American countries. An important moment in his career was the creation, in 2006, of the DSCH-Schostakovich Ensemble, of which he is artistic director. Over the last almost 20 years, Filipe has joined many of the most significant musicians of our time for concerts all over the world. It was also from this Ensemble that he created the VERÃO CLÁSSICO Festival and Academy in 2015, which takes place annually in Lisbon and is now one of the most important music festivals and academies in the world. Since 2021, Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro has been the artistic director of the Bragança ClassicFest Festival. He is also artistic director of the Capuchos Music Festival and curator of the Music4l-mente Concert Cycle in his hometown of Porto. Among his internationally acclaimed discography, with several solo albums, highlights include the double CD "Piano Seasons", with works by Tchaikovsky, Carrapatoso and Piazzolla / Nisinman, the full-length for piano and strings by Schostakovich and Beethoven Trios, the last three albums published by Paraty / Harmonia Mundi. He has won several awards and is the only Portuguese "Steinway Artist", an official distinction he received in 2014 from the prestigious Steinway & Sons piano brand.
