Beatriz Raimundo

Cellist Beatriz Raimundo began her musical studies with Catherine Strynckx at the Music School of the National Conservatory. Chamber music is at the heart of her activity, with projects such as the Tejo Quartet, with which she won the Young Musicians Prize in 2019. As a soloist, in 2021 she won 1st prize in the Vasco Barbosa Competition and 3rd prize in the Young Musicians Prize Competition; in 2016, she won 1st prize in the International Competition of the City of Fundão. In addition to classical repertoire, she frequently participates in contemporary music projects (ensembles Contrechamps, Ulysses and Vortex), and popular music, with her group Barlovento Sur. In 2015, she was admitted to the Haute École de Musique de Genève in the class of Ophélie Gaillard, a course she completed with top marks. In 2022, she completed her master's degree as a composer-performer focused on improvisation in Geneva, in Joshua Hyde's class. After 6 months as coordinator of the cellos at the NEOJIBA social project in Salvador da Bahía, she works as a freelancer and on various artistic projects in Europe, including OperaLab at the Grand Théâtre de Genève.
