Jos\u00e9 Pedro de Sousa Fangueiro is an accordionist from Vila do Conde who has been developing a diverse musical career. He explores not only classical repertoire \u2013 ranging from Baroque to contemporary \u2013 but also works regularly on musical projects connected to Portuguese traditional culture. He holds a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Music and a Master\u2019s in Music Education from the Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas (ESART), having previously studied at the Porto Music Conservatory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He has participated in various courses and masterclasses with renowned professors such as Claudio Jacomucci, Milo\u0161 Milivojevi\u0107, Friedrich Lips, Veli Kujala, Owen Murray, Vincent Lhermet, Bjarke Mogensen, Gorka Hermosa, Viatcheslav Semionov, and Franck Angelis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a soloist and chamber musician, he has performed in venues across Portugal and has also recorded live concerts for Antena 2. As a guest musician with the FoleFest Association, he premiered and recorded Portuguese works for accordion.
He has been awarded several prizes, including 1st Prize and Best Performer Awards at the FoleFest Competition (2018 and 2022), 3rd Prize at the Antena 2 Young Musicians Prize (2022), 2nd Prize at the Alcoba\u00e7a International Accordion Competition (2016), and 2nd Prize at the 4th Contemporary Interpretation Competition. In chamber music, he won 1st Prize at FoleFest (2019), 1st Prize at the Porto Music Conservatory Internal Competition (2017), 2nd Prize at the Antena 2 Young Musicians Prize (2021), 2nd Prize at the Alcoba\u00e7a International Accordion Competition (2016), among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
