Raquel Mendes, soprano, completed her vocal studies at the Calouste Gulbenkian Conservatory of Music in Braga in 2015, under the guidance of In\u00eas Sofia. In 2019, she graduated with top marks in Voice from ESMAE, where she studied with Ant\u00f3nio Salgado. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2024, she won the Pr\u00e9mio Jovens M\u00fasicos in the Baroque Music category, also receiving 2nd Prize in the Voice category of the same edition. In 2023, she was awarded 1st Prize at the Portuguese Rotary Foundation Singing Competition, as well as 1st Prize at the Almada International Music Competition and 2nd Prize at the Jos\u00e9 Augusto Alegria Prize in \u00c9vora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She is a founding member of the ensemble \"Il Filo d\u2019Oro\", dedicated to historically informed performance of 17th-century repertoire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She also collaborates with ensembles such as La Grande Chapelle, Ludovice Ensemble, Ensemble Bonne Corde, Cupertinos, Bando de Surunyo, Concerto Campestre, Mo\u00e7os do Coro, and Ars Combinatoria. She has appeared at major national and international festivals, including the Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht, Bachfest Stuttgart, Festival da P\u00f3voa de Varzim, Festival Abulensis, Tage Alter Musik Regensburg, and Bolzano Festival Bozen, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a soloist, she has sung roles such as Giannetta in L\u2019Elisir d\u2019amore by G. Donizetti, Despina in Cos\u00ec fan tutte by W. A. Mozart, and La Donna and Lauretta in La Donna di Genio Volubile by Marcos Portugal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her concert repertoire as a soloist includes works such as Mozart\u2019s Requiem, Handel\u2019s Dixit Dominus, Monteverdi\u2019s Vespro della Beata Vergine, Vivaldi\u2019s Gloria, and J. S. Bach\u2019s Johannespassion (BWV 245) and Matth\u00e4uspassion (BWV 244), among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She has performed as a soloist in venues such as the Royal Chapel of Madrid, Zaragoza Auditorium, Madrid National Auditorium, Grand Auditorium of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Teatro S\u00e3o Luiz, Theatro Circo, Teatro Nacional S\u00e3o Jo\u00e3o, and Casa da M\u00fasica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
