He later joined the Berlin University of the Arts, UdK, where he studied under Professor Michael Wolf and completed an MA and Art Diploma in Double Bass. Throughout his career, he was awarded on several occasions, having obtained an honorable mention at the International Society of Bassists Competition, in Houston, USA, and the 1st Prize at the \u201cJ\u00falio Cardona\u201d International Competition, in Covilh\u00e3.\nTiago has been a member of some of the best orchestras in the world, such as the NDR Symphony Orchestra of Hamburg, the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, the NDR Philharmonic Orchestra of Hannover, the Galicia Symphony Orchestra, among others, where he has worked with renowned conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Christoph von Dohnanyi, Kent Nagano and Christoph Eschenbach.\nIn the field of chamber music, he is a member of the DSCH \u2013 Schostakovich Ensemble and frequently plays, in Portugal and in several European countries, with renowned musicians such as Mihaela Martin, Frans Helmerson, G\u00e9rard Causs\u00e9, Pascal Moragu\u00e8s, Adrian Brendel, Marcelo Nisinman, Jack Liebeck, Kyril Zlotnikov, Corey Cerovsek, Benjamin Schmid, Jos\u00e9 van Dam, Silvia Careddu and his brother Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro.\nTiago Pinto-Ribeiro is currently a double bass player at the Orquestra Sinf\u00f3nica do Porto Casa da M\u00fasica and Professor of Double Bass and Chamber Music at the Universidade de Aveiro.<\/p>","protected":false},"featured_media":16527,"template":"","categories":[49],"ano":[9,7],"com-pagina":[],"class_list":["post-16487","artista","type-artista","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-pagina_artistas","ano-9","ano-corrente","entry","has-media"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/classicfest.pt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/artista\/16487","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/classicfest.pt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/artista"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/classicfest.pt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/artista"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/classicfest.pt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/16527"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/classicfest.pt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=16487"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/classicfest.pt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=16487"},{"taxonomy":"ano","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/classicfest.pt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ano?post=16487"},{"taxonomy":"com-pagina","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/classicfest.pt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/com-pagina?post=16487"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
