{"id":16481,"date":"2026-08-26T10:15:59","date_gmt":"2026-08-26T10:15:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/classicfest.pt\/?post_type=artista&#038;p=16481"},"modified":"2026-08-28T11:15:58","modified_gmt":"2026-08-28T11:15:58","slug":"filipe-pinto-ribeiro","status":"publish","type":"artista","link":"https:\/\/classicfest.pt\/en\/artista\/filipe-pinto-ribeiro\/","title":{"rendered":"Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Filipe Pinto-Ribeiro is widely regarded as one of the most distinguished Portuguese artists of recent decades, having achieved remarkable international recognition as a piano soloist, chamber musician, and artistic director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A native of Porto, he graduated and completed his doctoral studies in 2000 at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, where he studied for five years under the guidance of the renowned pedagogue Lyudmila Roschina. Since then, he has pursued an extensive career, performing at some of the most prestigious concert seasons and festivals across Europe, the Americas, Asia and Oceania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Often referred to as the \"poet of the piano,\" he is known for his mastery in navigating a vast repertoire, adapting camaleonically to styles ranging from Baroque and Romanticism to contemporary music\u2014having been the dedicatee of works by several composers from both Portugal and abroad. His solo discography, which includes five CDs, showcases his artistic versatility and features works from Bach to Ravel, Beethoven to Mussorgsky, and Debussy to Prokofiev.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a soloist, he has performed with the leading Portuguese orchestras as well as with major ensembles from various European and American countries. Passionate about chamber music, he has collaborated with many of today\u2019s most prominent performers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A decisive milestone in his artistic journey was the foundation, in 2006, of the DSCH \u2013 Schostakovich Ensemble, of which he is the artistic director. The ensemble's discography includes the world premiere recording of Shostakovich's complete chamber music with piano, as well as Beethoven's Trios Op. 11 and 38, albums widely praised by specialized critics. It was also through the DSCH that he created, in Lisbon in 2015, the Ver\u00e3o Cl\u00e1ssico Festival, considered one of the most prominent academies and platforms for musical excellence worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His creativity as an artistic director and curator has led him to spearhead numerous projects over the last two decades. He is currently the artistic director of the Capuchos Music Festival (Festival de M\u00fasica dos Capuchos) and curator of the Musical-Mente Cycle at the S\u00e3o Jo\u00e3o National Theater (Teatro Nacional S\u00e3o Jo\u00e3o) in Porto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A strong advocate for the promotion of new generations of musicians, he was a Piano Professor for a decade at various Portuguese universities, regularly conducts masterclasses, and founded the Juventus Ensemble in 2022, which brings together established musicians and emerging young talents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2014, he was awarded the prestigious title of \"Steinway Artist\" by Steinway &amp; Sons, being the only Portuguese pianist to hold this distinction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since 2021, he has been the artistic director of the Bragan\u00e7a ClassicFest International Music Festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2026, he was awarded the \u201cMunicipality of Bragan\u00e7a\u201d Prize in the category of \u201cAmbassador of Bragan\u00e7a and Cross-Border Cooperation\u201d, a distinction that, in the words of the Municipality, recognises his \u201cexceptional talent\u201d and his \u201cdecisive contribution to establishing Bragan\u00e7a as a cultural, educational and artistic hub\u201d.<\/p>","protected":false},"featured_media":17003,"template":"","categories":[49],"ano":[9,57,58,7],"com-pagina":[],"class_list":["post-16481","artista","type-artista","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-pagina_artistas","ano-9","ano-57","ano-58","ano-corrente","entry","has-media"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/classicfest.pt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/artista\/16481","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/classicfest.pt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/artista"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/classicfest.pt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/artista"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/classicfest.pt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/17003"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/classicfest.pt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=16481"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/classicfest.pt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=16481"},{"taxonomy":"ano","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/classicfest.pt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/ano?post=16481"},{"taxonomy":"com-pagina","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/classicfest.pt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/com-pagina?post=16481"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
