Graduated in the Stellenbosch University (South Africa), Olga Amaro studied with pianist Nina Schumann with whom she completed her Master in Piano Performance “cum laude”.
Throughout her musical path, she was a student of Eugénia Moura ( Fernandes Fão Music Academie) and Constantin Sandu (ESMAE), working at the same time with musicians such as Helena Sá e Costa, Sequeira Costa, Vladimir Viardo, Konstantin Sherbakov, Alexei Lubimov, among others.
Awarded with the 1st prize of Concurso Nacional Florinda Santos (1996, São João da Madeira) and ATKV-Muziq Competition (2005, South Africa) in the Ensemble category, Olga Amaro was also awarded a Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian Scholarship (from 1997 to 2003), and received the Lions Club Prize and the merit-based grant of Instituto Politécnico do Porto (2002). In 2011, she won the prize for best pianist in the 5th Lyrical Vocal Competition of Fundação Rotária Portuguesa.
Olga regularly performs solo and in chamber music and has already played in Portugal, Spain, France, England, Italy, Germany, Romania, South Africa, Mozambique and Columbia.
Her discography includes two albums: “Canções de Lemúria” with soprano Marina Pacheco (2013) and “Canção” with soprano Lara Martins (2021).
Currently, Olga is a collaborative pianist in Conservatório de Música do Porto and ESMAE.
